Bulb ovoid, 1-1.5 cm diarn.; outer tunics black, inner white, thin, membranous. Stem 15-25(-45) cm, finely striate, pale greenish or flushed purple. Leaves 1-3, linear, 3-8 mm broad, undulate. Spathe thin, membranous, 2-valved; valves8-14mm,ovate,adpressed to umbel. Umbel hemispherical, 2.5-4 cm diam., many-flowered, dense. Pedicels 12-16 mm, filiform, somewhat thickened at tip. Perianth campanulate; segments rosy-pink, pinkish-violet, mauve or purple, narrowly linear, 7-9 mm, very acute, limp. Filaments included, Jess than 1/2 x perianth segments, broadened at base. Anthers pale violet. Capsule subglobose, 4 mm, pale brown. Fl. 6. Quercus scrub, meadows, grassy slopes, montane steppe, on loam, basalt soil or turf, 1800-2750 m.

Endemic. Ir.-Tur. element. Similar in habit to A. decipiens but differing from the latter by its very narrow perianth segments.
